Belt and Road Summit 2024

The Belt and Road Summit 2024, an international platform promoting business collaboration along the Belt and Road, was organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) on 11 – 12 September 2024.

At the event, LSCM showcased two of the Centre’s pioneering platforms including the e-Smart Port Platform and the eBRAM Platform. LSCM’s representatives introduced the two platforms to the visitors and explained in detail how they could enhance the efficiency and productivity of different  businesses, especially the Small and Medium Enterprises. LSCM will continue to actively promote its technologies for the industry adoption and support the region’s economic growth.

Visitors learned about how the eBRAM Platform could facilitate and speed up the process of dispute resolution in business operation.

EMSD Safety Conference 2024

LSCM participated in the EMSD Safety Conference 2024 organised by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD), Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), and Occupational Safety and Health Council (OSHC) on 2 October 2024 to showcase the award-winning Electronic Power Assist Trolley System. Mr Chris SUN, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, The Government of the HKSAR, visited LSCM's booth to experience how the trolley could help workers transport heavy items easily and efficiently. Mr Max Chow, Director of R&T Development (Advanced Robots & Machines), LSCM, also delivered a presentation on the application and advantages of the Electronic Power Assist Trolley System at the event, enlightening the audience about LSCM's technology and promoting technology adoption for higher efficiency.

InnoCarnival 2024

The InnoCarnival 2024, organised by the Innovation and Technology Commission (ITC) on 26 October – 3 November 2024, offered an exciting opportunity for the visitors to experience the latest technologies in an engaging way. At the event, LSCM designed two interactive games which attracted the participation of a large number of visitors.

LSCM's Maxbot was adopted to build a mini basketball shooting game, in which the participants were required to shoot the basketball towards a moving basketball hoop on the Maxbot. The other game simulated the transportation of goods in the low-altitude economy, in which the participants were required to move the tiny packages with a drone within a designated area.  LSCM's booth was a popular spot at the event, offering visitors an opportunity to learn about the emerging technologies in an enjoyable way.

The visitors enjoyed the mini basketball shooting game designed with LSCM's Maxbot. The visitors explored the concept of low-altitude economy through the interactive game with drone.

China Hi-Tech Fair 2024

The China Hi-Tech Fair (CHTF) 2024, featuring the latest technologies in Hong Kong and in the Mainland, took place on 14 -16 November 2024 in Shenzhen.

Riding on this opportunity, LSCM showcased the e-Smart Port Platform and the HK-Zhuhai Trade Facilitation Platform which were developed to foster cross-border trade and logistics, providing the visitors with the latest updates about the logistics technologies developed by the Centre.


Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES) 2024

The Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES) 2024 was held on 21-24 November 2024 to let the public explore and learn more about various gerontechnology and solutions. The Expo also aims at mobilising the elderly and rehabilitation service sector to adopt gerontechnology.

At the Expo this year, LSCM showcased the Follow-me Robot, Robo-9 with Multi-Sensor Technologies for the Visually Impaired, Tele-practice Platform System and the project of Enhancing Rehabilitation through Immersive Virtual Reality (VR) Training with VR content for home safety and shopping skills training respectively. The public and the members of the elderly service sector were interested in obtaining the latest updates about LSCM’s gerontechnology and how they can be adopted to enhance the elderly’s quality of life.

LSCM representative explained how Robo-9 could provide orientation and navigation information to the visitors. The visitors visited LSCM’s booth to learn about the features of the Tele-practice Platform System.

EMSD Symposium 2024

LSCM joined the EMSD Symposium 2024 organised by the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department (EMSD) on 16 December 2024 by showcasing the centre’s latest technology at the exhibition. Echoing with the theme of “Empowering High-quality Development for a Green Future” of the event, LSCM demonstrated the “Digital Twin-based ESG Platform for Property and Facility Management Industries” at LSCM’s booth. It is a digital twin-based robot-assisted surveillance platform combining Building Information Modelling (BIM), Internet of Things (IoT), robotics and AI technologies to enhance the environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting as well as environmental management capabilities of the real estate sector.

The industry practitioners visited LSCM’s booth to learn about the Platform’s monitoring and analysis capabilities for the property and facility management industries and also shared their views with the LSCM team.
