For robotics technologies, navigation and obstacle avoidance are crucial functions for Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs). And yet, robot navigation applying vision and laser technologies cannot satisfy the requirement of application in glassy environment because the light will direct the robot to unwanted directions. LSCM, therefore, developed the Senor Fusion Technology for Glass Detection and Recognition for robot navigation by using sensor fusion and related artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
This effective senor fusion technology can enhance the performance of the AMRs in planning the best path and swiftly arriving at the destinations in glassy environment. The Senor fusion platform hardware consisting of LiDAR, mm-Wave Radar and Robot Base is constructed to detect and avoid obstacles made of glass or mirrors proficiently. The built-in transparent objects detection algorithm can also enhance the reliability of the AMRs and minimise the multi-path effect of mm-Wave for indoor usage with the signal processing and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
