OSH Innovation and Technology Expo 2024

The first OSH Innovation & Technology Expo was jointly organised by the Occupational Safety & Health Council (OSHC) and Labour Department on 7 – 8  March 2024,  providing a platform to showcase the latest solutions, products, and technologies for enhancing occupational safety and health.

At the expo, Mr Stephen Wai, Director of Business Development, LSCM, shared about the latest technologies of the centre that could enhance worksite safety. LSCM also showcased a series of technologies which could enhance efficiency and the workers’ occupational safety and health at the Expo, including the E-Form System, Electronic Power Assist Trolley System, Maxbot, Safety Belt Alarm System and Follow-me Robot.  The industry practitioners and members of the public showed great interest in the Electronic Power Assist Trolley System during the 2-day Expo.

The visitors learned about how the Safety Belt Alarm System could help to monitor the proper use of safety belts at worksites. Mr CHAN Kwok-ki, GBS, IDSM, JP, Chief Secretary for Administration, the Government of the HKSAR, visited LSCM’s booth to experience how the Electronic Power Assist Trolley System enhances the efficiency in and safety of transporting heavy items.

Briefing Session on eHealth+ e-Medication Project

The Health Bureau (HHB), Hospital Authority (HA) and LSCM jointly organised a briefing session on the  e-Health+ and eMedication Project on 25 March 2024, introducing the development of eHealth+ and explaining how the eMedication functions can help optimise the medication management system and protocol at the Residential Care Homes (RCHs). Jointly initiated by the HHB and the HA in collaboration with LSCM, the eMedication project supports RCHs and their electronic medication management system suppliers to implement system connections and improve information security. More than 600 representatives from the Residential Care Homes for the Elderly (RCHEs) and Residential Care Homes for Persons with Disabilities (RCHDs) joined the briefing session in person and online.

Ms Joan HUNG, Principal Assistant Secretary for Health, Health Bureau, introduced the eHealth+ Project at the briefing session. More than 600 representatives from the Residential Care Homes for the Elderly (RCHEs) and Residential Care Homes for Persons with Disabilities (RCHDs) joined the briefing session to learn about the latest development of the e-Health+ and eMedication Project.
Dr WONG Wing Nam, Senior Consultant (Healthcare), LSCM, and Dr Dorbin NG, Director, R & T Development (HAII), LSCM, gave a presentation on “Medication logistics and supply chain and drug management in RCHs” at the briefing session.

InnoEx 2024

LSCM participated in the second edition of InnoEx co-organised by the Government of the HKSAR and Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) on 13 – 16 Apr 2024 to showcase the Centre’s latest Smart City technologies. The event focused on the next-generation smart solutions, cutting-edge technologies and disruptive innovations.

At the event, LSCM demonstrated a series of Smart City technologies including the Electronic Power Assist Trolley System, Tele-control Warehouse Stackers Using 5G, Smart Area-Wide Traffic Control System for better Mobility, and Baby Tag and Baby Tracking Management Control System. Dr CH CHENG, Director, Research & Technology, LSCM, also delivered a talk on “Smart Mobility, Smart City” to introduce LSCM’s technology which could enhance mobility and alleviate traffic congestions.  Many local visitors, as well as others from the Mainland and overseas visited the LSCM booth to learn about the showcased technologies.

Mr Siu Chak-yee, PDSM, PMSM, Commissioner of Police, Hong Kong Police Force, visited LSCM’s booth to learn about the Smart City technologies and exchanged views and ideas with the LSCM team. The visitors were interested in the features and functions of the Tele-control Warehouse Stackers Using 5G.
Representatives from the Hong Kong Electronic Industries Association (HKEIA) had some insightful discussions with the LSCM team at the event. The award-winning technologies showcased at the event attracted lots of enquiries from the visitors.

Jiangsu-HK Inno Tech Roundtable 2024

The Jiangsu-HK Inno Tech Roundtable co-organised by the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province and Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC)  was held on 15 April 2024. At the event, Ir Dr Venus LUN, Special Project Director, LSCM, introduced the e-Smart Port Platform (eSPP) developed by LSCM, exploring how the platform could facilitate the sharing of port and logistics information in the port community, thereby enhancing the efficiency and productivity of the logistics industry.  The event connected Hong Kong’s Start-ups, R&D Centres and Universities, as well as the enterprises and technology companies from Jiangsu to share their views and experience in technology development, providing a platform for networking and potential collaboration.

The Roundtable aims at connecting Hong Kong and Jiangsu for collaboration in technology development. Ir Dr Venus LUN, Special Project Director, LSCM, and the guests from Jiangsu shared their views and ideas towards the development of innovation and technology.
