LSCM garnered 8 awards at the 49th International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva

This year, the world-renowned International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva took place on 17 – 21 April 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland. Once again, LSCM’s commitment and expertise in technology R&D were acclaimed and recognised at this international event.

At the event, LSCM has won 1 gold medal, 3 silver medals and 4 bronze medals. The Hong Kong GNSS Signal Quality Monitoring and Interference Detection System, a collaborative project developed with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, was awarded a gold medal. And the e-Publishing Platform which provides the functions of AI translation and audio production from text, was awarded a silver medal. The two other collaborative projects which also received the silver medals were the Computer Vision-enabled Digital Twin for Construction Resource and Progress Management developed in partnership with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the Digital Twin, AI, Robotics, and IoT Empowered ESG Platform for Property and Facility Management Industries developed in partnership with The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. The other award-winning technologies were the e-SmartPort Platform (eSPP), AI in Assisting Crop Pest and Disease Control, Baby Tag and Baby Tracking Management Control System, and the Intrusion Detected Continuous Re-authentication (IDCRA) Technology.

LSCM would continue our effort in technology R&D to foster the industry development and enhance the quality of life of the community, thereby creating a better future for Hong Kong.

LSCM received various awards in recognition of its outstanding achievements in technology R&D. The LSCM team introduced the project AI in Assisting Crop Pest and Disease Control to the judges and visitors at the exhibition.

Digital Economy Summit 2024

The Digital Economy Summit (DES) 2024 organised by the Government of the HKSAR and Cyberport was held on 12 – 13 Apr 2024. As one of the co-organisers of the Summit, LSCM partnered with Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC) to organise the Smart Industrialisation & Supply Chain Forum (Forum) on the first day of the event. With the theme of "Transformative Technologies for Smart Manufacturing & Supply Chain Optimisation", the industry experts explored the immense potential of cutting-edge technologies in revolutionising the manufacturing industry and optimising supply chain operations, as well as boosting productivity and fostering sustainable practices, at the Forum.

At the event, LSCM also showcased two logistics technologies developed by the Centre, namely the Electronic Power Assist Trolley System and the Tele-control Warehouse Stackers Using 5G, at the Experience Zone. This allowed the guests to gain first-hand experience of the innovation which could be adopted for enhanced efficiency and productivity.

Through the active participation in various industry events and exhibitions, LSCM promotes and facilitates the adoption of innovative technologies in the logistics, and different sectors.

In his Welcome Remarks, Mr Simon WONG, MH, FCILT, Chief Executive Officer, LSCM, emphasised the importance of the adoption of innovative technologies by the industry in tackling the upcoming challenges and seizing the future opportunities. Dr Frank TONG, Director/Chief Scientist, Research & Technology Development (System), LSCM, introduced the e-Smart Port Platform at the Forum.
At the Forum, the industry experts explored the immense potential of cutting-edge technologies in revolutionising the manufacturing industry and optimising supply chain operations. Ir Dr Venus LUN, Special Project Director, LSCM, led a panel discussion to examine how the Smart Port Platform (eSPP) would transform the global supply chain.
Mr Paul Chan, GBM, GBS, MH, JP, Financial Secretary, Mr Michael WONG, GBS, JP, Deputy Financial Secretary, and  Prof SUN Dong, JP, Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, the Government of the HKSAR, learned about the Tele-Control Warehouse Stackers Using 5G at the Experience Zone.
