Mr. Peter Shum joined Epson Hong Kong Ltd. in 1990, where he was responsible for the semiconductor components business, including FPGA, ASIC, and MCU etc. In 1995, he founded Field Technology Co., Ltd. and Loyal Master Ltd., focusing on semiconductor component applications and embedded system development, which were used to produce various consumer electronic products. In 2008, Mr. Shum transitioned to the information technology industry and focused on education technology business, such as library systems, administrative systems and intelligent marking systems.
Mr. Shum is currently the Executive Director of iREd Solutions Limited, where he focuses on the STEM/STEAM education industry. He actively participates in the certification and standardization of STEM/STEAM products, such as the "Framework Development for the Certification of STEM Products" in 2023. This initiative led to the establishment of the QSTEM certification program by the Hong Kong QMark Council in 2024. In recent years, he has promoted the importance of integrated and cross-industry IT applications, utilizing elements such as Artificial Intelligence, the Internet of Things, Big Data applications, and Cybersecurity.
Mr. Shum graduated in Electronics Engineering from Hong Kong Polytechnic. He holds a Master of Engineering Management from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), a Master of Business from the University of Newcastle, Australia (UoN). Mr. Shum also serves in various organizations, including the Federation of Hong Kong Industries (FHKI), Hong Kong Internet Registration Corporation Limited (HKIRC), Vocational Training Council (VTC), Hong Kong Metropolitan University (HKMU), Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), and the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework (HKQF).
