Hosting Institution: | LSCM R&D Centre (LSCM) |
Abstract: | Transaction Security and Privacy Protection are hot topics in business. The growth of e-Business adds new dimension to the problems. e-Transaction in Supply Chain and Retail Industry involve the exchange of many e-Documents over public networks. Technologies, while opening up new opportunities for business, also make eavesdropping and forgery ever easier. The objective of this project is to research and applied technologies to secure e-Transaction, prevent fraud and protect business as well as private information in e-Transactions. We shall take two representative e-Transaction Processes/Flows: (i) e-Shipping Document Exchange; (ii) e-Cheque Transaction Process; as bases for research. Secured Email, a widely adopted technology, adds a keys management sub-process to an e-Transaction. This project will evaluate the impact of such sub-process. To prevent fraud, TRUE Single-Copy technologies and Trace Evidence will be the two focuses of this research. A Proof-Of-Concept on TRUE Single-Copy and Trace Evidence will be conducted with e-Cheque as a pilot. The research outcomes are expected to enhance the security of the e-Transaction Systems for Supplier Chain and Retail Business. The e-Cheque case research will definitely benefit the HKMA e-Cheque project. |
