Project Title: | XR CV-based Occupational + Safety and Health Training Reinforcement, Assessment, and Personalized Recommendations |
Hosting Institution: | The University of Hong Kong (HKU) |
Abstract: | This proposed project aims to develop a novel technology that harnesses the power of Extended Reality (XR), Computer Vision (CV), Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Digital Twin (DT) to revolutionize job training programs and enhance workplace safety and health. The project's primary objective is to develop an innovative training and reinforcement system that evaluates trainees' performance and delivers personalized recommendations, reinforces the consequences of activities in job training sessions, and ultimately enhances the overall effectiveness and efficiency of occupational safety and health training. To validate the capabilities and performance of the proposed technology and platform, XR trainning prorgrammes will be developed and two pilot studies will be conducted at HKU and in collaboration with a key organization in Hong Kong. The organization, which regularly offers comprehensive job training for their employees, will serve as their main partner in the project. Through the pilot study, the project aims to showcase the significant benefits and real-world impact of the proposed technology. Ultimately, this project is expected to contribute to a significant step forward in occupational safety and health training. By leveraging multiple advanced technologies, our proposed R&D outcomes can empower organizations and individuals to establish safer work environments, reduce accidents and injuries, and foster job learning and skill improvement. |
