Hosting Institution: | LSCM R&D Centre (LSCM) |
Abstract: | In November 2019, Hong Kong Chief Executive Carrie Lam announced 16 measures benefiting Hong Kong people after attending the meeting of the Leading Group for the Development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The measures include allowing the use of Hong Kong-registered pharmaceuticals and common medical devices in designated Hong Kong-owned healthcare institutions in the Greater Bay Area. In response to this policy, this project is to tackle issues arose in the circulation, such as standard compatibility, privacy protection, cross-boundary data sharing, data coordination. This project will research and develop a Cross-boundary Track & Trace Platform for Pharmaceutical Supply Chain based on Consortium Blockchain, and a Pharmaceutical Approval Management Platform based on Domestic Blockchain. There are 3 goals for this project: (1) to establish a secure and efficient channel for data exchange; (2) to provide a one-stop cross-boundary pharmaceutical circulation & regulation platform facilitating HK/GBA pharma distributors, hospitals in GBA, as well as regulatory authorities in both Mainland China and Hong Kong; (3) to achieve standard compatibility, trackability and traceability. |
