Project Title: | A Decision-Support Platform for COVID-19 Pandemic Control |

Abstract: | This project aims to the develop the first decision-support platform for COVID-19 pandemic control based on COVID-19 symptom onset risk prediction in Hong Kong. Targeting at users in the public sectors, the platform will have the following functions: a) One-stop workflow and toolsets for multi-source data management and exchange, COVID-19 onset risk prediction, decision-support according to risk prediction result, visualization of the status quo of COVID-19 and risk prediction result and result delivery; b) prediction of COVID-19 symptom onset risk (e.g., fever and cough) in Hong Kong at the urban-community scale; c) City-scale COVID-19 onset risk prediction in selected countries/regions which used to have intensive travel flows with Hong Kong; d) Decision support based on symptom onset risk prediction, which can more timely predict the COVID-19 spread trend, compared with the common confirmed-case-based predictions, especially for test kit and vaccine allocation in Hong Kong; e) Decision support on inbound travel control based on onset risk prediction under customized immigration policies. The platform is anticipated to become a highly useful tool for precise anti-epidemic measures, Travel Bubbles, and other immigration policies, thereby promoting lower-cost long-term pandemic control and the socioeconomic recovery. |
