Project Title: | Multi-Model Sensing and Deep Intelligence for Police Auto-Surveillance in Boundary Control |
Hosting Institution: | LSCM R&D Centre (LSCM) |
Abstract: | Hong Kong is renowned of her welcoming city to visitors and free trade port to business. However, the rising trends of illegal immigration has creeped up progressively as a potential threat to these advantages of our city and port. Remarkable progress has been achieved in the detection of illegal immigrants at the border control area. However, at the wide-open space of the border control point, there still has control vulnerability. To that issue, we call for innovation and development of technology means in this project as exploration for solutions to help strengthen our border control in order to curb the undesired occurrence of illegal immigration. This project is to research and develop a set of IoT technologies for border control operations against illegal immigrants. In the project, key systems technology of sensor fusion among individual surveillance sensing specifically for outdoor site operations, such as laser scanning, thermal imaging, video surveillance and motion detection, will be developed. We anticipate the outcome of this project will lay the foundation for LSCM’s IoT and deep intelligence technology development, as well as the commercialization and realization for the innovative IoT systems for open-field safety and security surveillance in the future. |
