Hong Kong Logistics Forum 2014 (E-tailing - The Challenges and Opportunity for Hong Kong Logistics Industry)
In the past few years, retail industry undergone a major transformation, the traditional retail model is now facing an unprecedented challenge: any business or individual can sell and purchase goods via the Internet (including goods from physical or virtual stores), and no longer confined to the traditional channels.
Due to changes in sales patterns, it causes a huge demand of delivery services need for goods that are small in volume but high in quantity. The key success factors of this new business model not only depends on fast and unmistakably delivering goods to the buyers, it also has to be at a reasonable cost and with good service. Therefore, enterprises of all kinds needed to re-design, adjust its logistics supply chain, which brings both opportunities and challenges for the logistics industry.
