The Institute of Purchasing & Supply of Hong Kong 40th Anniversary Conference
Whenever we think of economic sustainability or sustainable development, we think of environmental protection or optimizing the utilization of natural resources where the green elements count. For many years, procurement professionals strive to fulfill the vision of being “Green”. Are there any conflicts between environment protection and the cost of consumption or manufacturing? Is the “Green” supply chain costly that the under-developed countries could not afford? What kind of support we need from the local authorities? Or, would the technology advancement make the “Green” more cost efficient?
Green Procurement has been the hot topic for years. Could we go for green purchasing in the upper stream so as to cascade the impact throughout the supply chain and at the same time reducing waste? In the upcoming IPSHK 40th Anniversary Conference, we will have the chance to explore more about green purchasing, green logistics and supply chain. We hope this will help us understand more about the interactive relationship among businesses, environment, community, logistics and supply chain network.
