Professor Gary Chan is currently Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Director of the Entrepreneurship Centre in The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. He is also serving as research advisor to LSCM R&D Centre.

Professor Chan obtained his BSE in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University in 1993 and PhD in Electrical Engineering with minor in business administration (management of operations, information and technology) from Stanford University in 1999. His research interests include multimedia streaming, indoor localization, big data and user analytics, and IT entrepreneurship.
