• LSCM Showcases at "Climate Change and My Smart City" Exhibition

 

Construction Industry Council’s ZCB (Zero Carbon Building) has been transformed into an experiential platform that promulgates awareness in Climate Change by displaying the latest Smart City technologies. The “Climate Change and My Smart City” Exhibition consists of four sub-themes namely Climate Change, Smart City & Sustainable Built Environment, Smart Living and Health and Well-being for promoting low carbon living in Hong Kong. The exhibition lasts from June to December 2017.

The LSCM R&D Centre takes part in the exhibition and showcases the “RFID Blind Cane Navigation System”. A RFID reader is embedded inside the smart blind cane. By reading the signals sending out from RFID tags installed inside the tactile paving, it can provide voice instructions to the user through smartphone. The system has won the Gold Medal in the 44th Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions.

At the opening ceremony on 9 June, Mr. Vincent Wong, Senior Project Manager from the LSCM R&D Centre delivered a presentation about “RFID Blind Cane Navigation System”.

Mr. Vincent Wong, Senior Project Manager from the LSCM R&D Centre introduced “RFID Blind Cane Navigation System” to Mr. MA Siu-cheung, Eric, JP, Former Secretary for Development of the Hong Kong SAR Government.
The visitors were blindfolded to experience the RFID Blind Cane Navigation System.
 
• Internet of Things (IoT) & Wireless Symposium

 

The LSCM R&D Centre participated in the Internet-of-Things (IoT) & Wireless Symposium which was held on 26 May 2017 at Hong Kong Science Park. Organized by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries and Hong Kong Electronics Industry Council, this year’s theme was “Exploring the Power of IoT”, distinguished speakers shared their insights on Smart Wearables & Wireless Healthcare, Smart City, Advanced Wireless Communication and Smart Home & Smart Appliances. 

The Centre showcased the RFID Blind Cane Navigation System at the booth with demonstration to the guests.
The committee members of FHKI showed interest in LSCM technology during Internet-of-Things (IoT) & Wireless Symposium.
Mr. Stephen Wai, Senior Manager, Business & Project Development from the LSCM R&D Centre delivered a presentation on the Cross Industrial IoT Application.
 
• Introducing e-Cheque Wallet in Fintech Week

 

The LSCM R&D Centre exhibited at Fintech week event which was organized by Hong Kong Telecommunications (HKT) held from 20 to 21 June at PCCW Tower. The event was aimed to provide an exchange platform on the latest technologies in the operations with the support of HKT. The Centre took up a showcase booth to introduce the Centre’s e-Cheque Wallet, a secure solution for the transfer of e-Cheque in which the e-Cheque is transferred, validated and tracked, to the guests.
Mr. Raymond Lee, Software Architect, Research & Technology Development, LSCM R&D Centre, shared the project of e-Cheque Wallet in the seminar.
Guests were interested in the e-Cheque Wallet system.
