Briefing for LSCM Call for Proposals & Industry and Research Collaboration

The LSCM R&D Centre has announced the themes for its 1st Call-for-Proposals in 2008. To encourage closer interaction between the industry and researchers, a briefing session was successfully held on Apr 16 and recorded a hundred of participants.

The Professor of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People's Republic of China, Chairman of RosettaNet China, VP of Chinese Association of Standardization,
VP of RFID China Alliance and Principal Consultant of National RFID Industry Base,
Dr. Zhiwen Zhang, was the guest of honor of this event. The LSCM R&D Centre is very proud to have Dr. Zhang to present the topic "Opportunities and Challenges of China RFID Development" at the event.

Another guest who spoke at the event was Mr. John Hammond, Member of Board of Directors of the LSCM R&D Centre. Mr. Hammond's speech highlighted the vetting process for platform and collaborative research programs.

Two breakout sessions were conducted by Centre's R&D Directors to share the relevant details of themes for inviting R&D project applications in regard to the latest announcement. The active participation of researchers, technology companies and user groups were impressed and showed that market-driven R&D collaboration was well received both by the industry and research community.

The 6th (Beijing) RFID International Summit

4-6 June 2008 

 

Organized by the RFID China Alliance with LSCM R&D Centre as its supporting organization, one of the most influential international RFID events in China - The 6th ( Beijing ) RFID International Summit will be held on Jun 4-6, 2008 at Hall 1, China International Exhibition Center-Beijing. This year, the LSCM R&D Centre will take part in the exhibition at the RFID Exhibition Area and co-organize events with industry partners. Details of the event will be announced at a later time.

Call for Entries - Hong Kong RFID Awards 2008

Organized by GS1 Hong Kong, the FIRST EVER Hong Kong RFID Awards are established to bring recognition to pioneering enterprises, which have successfully brought EPC / RFID technologies into their business operations. The purpose of the Awards is to encourage the adoption of EPC / RFID technology in Hong Kong and the Pearl River Delta region, and to foster the development of new EPC / RFID products and services.

 

The Hong Kong RFID Awards consist of three Award categories:
 
-     Best EPC / RFID Implementation Award
 
-     Most Innovative Use of EPC / RFID Award
 
-     Most Innovative EPC / RFID Products Award
