Briefing for LSCM Call for Proposals & Industry and Research Collaboration
9 January 2008

The LSCM R&D Centre has announced the themes for its 2007-08's Call-for-Proposals exercise on Dec 28. To encourage closer interaction between the industry and researchers, a briefing session was successfully held on Jan 9 and recorded a total attendance of 150 visitors. The active participation of researchers, technology companies and user groups were impressed and showed that market-driven R&D collaboration was well received both by the industry and research community.

Chongqing Hong Kong - Introduction of Hong Kong's R&D Centres & Technology Infrastructure

10 December 2007

Jointly organized by the Innovation and Technology Commission of the HKSAR Government and Chongqing Science & Technology Commission, a delegation was held on Dec 10 in Chongqing for Hong Kong R&D centres and technology-support organizations to exchange information and explore collaboration. Prof. CJ Tan and Mr. Anthony Kwok who were members of the delegation representing the LSCM R&D Centre met Dr. Lin Yun from Chongqing University to forge cooperation in research programs. To further strengthen the cooperation with Chongqing and other Mainland institutions, the LSCM R&D Centre is planning to participate in the 8th China Chongqing Hi-tech Fair in April. Details of the event will be announced at a later time.

Program on Training and Promotion of DTTN System and Compatible Solutions

Digital Trade and Transportation Network (DTTN) is a HKSAR government endorsed community wide electronic platform that encourages the sharing of information and exchange of business documents on a global scale. It also promotes the use of electronic business solutions in order to enhance Hong Kong's overall competitiveness. Seminar on China Customs On-line Supervision and Customs Business Management for Processing Trade Enterprises
7 March 2008

The Chinese Manufacturers' Association of Hong Kong (CMA) and the University of Hong Kong will jointly organize a seminar on Mar 7 to share the latest development of China Customs Duty-Free Supervision Policy.

Moreover, an introduction of a research project under the Guangdong – Hong Kong Technology Cooperation Funding Scheme (TCFS), namely "Gateway System for PRD Manufacturers to Adopt Networked Logistics Customs Clearance Platforms" and its progress of achievement will also be presented in the event. The LSCM R&D Centre is one of the supporting organizations of this meaningful event, please refer to attached programme rundown for registration and details.
